here says the news broke with the last two hours. he is survived by family members including four children funeral arrangements at this point have yet to be made. >>pam: it turns out that the murdered officer was on the seen originally dealing with a dead deer. a second officer radioed that he was going to pull in a green jeep wrangler with unobstructed license plate.

after a quick conversation with the driver, he was shot. moments after he was shot, a second officer was shot and killed. the suspect has been identified as 36 for old christopher lacy. investigators are still looking into the motive for the shooting. kate >> the candlelight vigil is just racking up. here is video from earlier in the night.

seven year veteran from the highway patrol. charles crawford has details. >> he had been with the california highway patrol for seven years. he gradually from the academy in 2005. prior to that he served in the army reserves from he worked almost exclusively of the highway patrol office in martinez. he lived in his home in cordelia, not far from fairfield. he is married with four children. neighbors describe a dedicated family man. >>pam: and tonight we're learning more about the shooting suspect. as terisa estacio reports, he has an extensive history here and the bay area. >> lacey says he work for this company right here.

on his linkedin profile, he says that he was a senior software engineer. he created a health care out for patients navigate health-care costs. that was one of many jobs in our data the past several years most only lasted a few months. >>dan: he also says on his linkedin profile that he worked at ebay. we learned that he received a degree from san francisco state university and that he has a master's. kron4 has learned that he lived in several cities and of the area including this duplex in of sausalito.

a neighbor tells kron4 that he was friendly. >>pam: still is kron4 as new details emerged about the chp officer shooting. we will have to order of tonight's news cast. >> a suspect wanted in connection with the attempted murder of another chp officer. that suspect is now behind bars. this is video from the violent scene on july 21st on 50th avenue in oakland where the incident occurred. oakland police chief howard jordan announced the arrest and was flanked by chp officers at a news conference this evening. >> today the oakland police department, the chp and marshall's task force arrested a canyon thomas of oakland in connection with the attempted murder of 60 officers on july 21, 2012. >> oakland police chief howard

jordan assessed the rest of the 16 year-old makes the fourth and final person in custody in connection with the midsummer altercation involving a car ramming act cruiser while those offices or in person of suspects in another vehicle. >> the occupants then fired several rounds at the chp officer. >> the cs the officer was not wounded. the chief says in light of the recent shootings of chp officers, this arrest was particularly gratifying for the department.

>>pam: police said that asian-american women are the target of a scam happening on the streets of san francisco. we have some insider video of the scheme. >> the victim is wearing dark clothing. it's an anonymous informant had this video over to detectives show will police are calling a chinese fraud scheme. the suspects are all women, 40-46 years old he and floyd in cantonese. they're targeting older chinese woman walking alone on the street. the victims are told that they are cursed ended need to be purified. once the victim's return with money, jewelry and any other items, the suspect's perform a ritual.
